part of the tight-knit group of neapolitan techno labels which includes rilis, analytic trail and mkt, loose records is the invention of legendary godfather of italian techno, rino cerrone. named after the napoli club, >loose<, the project was created as a platform for the development of newly emerging electronic acts.

two and a half years after their debut lp, 23 seconds, dazzled critics and lit up dance floors worldwide, cobblestone jazz are back with a powerhouse new album that captures their live-in-the-studio energy like never before. a mixture of heady, jazz-inspired house grooves and below-the-belt analog funk, it raises the bar for electronic dance music in 2010.titled the modern deep left quartet, the record marks an important addition to the cobblestone jazz lineup, as the trio of mathew jonson, danuel tate and tyger dhula brings aboard colin de la plante (aka the mole). de la plante is no newcomer to the cobblestone crew: the four musicians have been playing together for nearly 15 years, since their first performances in small-town victoria, british columbia, and theyve all shared the stage as the modern deep left quartet

voyeurrhythm crew returns with an splendin follow up on the ep1 (which was sold out on the day it came out!). and this one might even be better! hollywood nights has a dirty chi-town influenced house track with a phat bassline... think early days of frankie knuckles! megadon betamax did a cheeky cover version of one of our all-time favorite electronic disco tracks... changed into >he cant love you< (he completly reprogrammed and recorded the track!). and ben sun, suplier of the fantastic >when you looked< track on ep1 has another extremely solid track again called victoria park.. goose bumps all over from the first bar! another winner.

dojo is about getting back to the roots of american techno and house, and getting away from the computer. we want to help bring back the spontaneity and freedom of live performance and recordings. we want to celebrate the raw physicality of the music, and the dj who still likes to mix. ross since, 1997, ross has been in the background of the westcoast canadian techno scene, particularly the victoria family that included mathew jonson, cobblestone jazz, the mole, and hrdvsion. in 1998, he released the now out-of-print compilation album ôgarden city dubs, that featured first material by mathew jonson, and cobblestone jazz. he left for california in æ98, but kept his finger on the pulse as the art director for itiswhatitis recordings. while in the bay area, he listened mostly to soul,rap and early american techno music. heavily influenced by his time spent in the u.s., he started to develop a musical aesthetic, which he is now ready to express. young florent florent moved to vancouver from switzerland to attend art school. he began to get into making techno. tapping into his french-martinique roots, florent quickly developed a unique sound, which caught rossÆs ear. a few live jams later, it was clear that they worked well together, so they got a studio space and got to work. one month later, dojo had its first release. florent has only been making music for a year, but his swiss work-ethic is dangerous

the polytechnics ep is the second release on df by silver city following the superb dubby ep from 2006. on the a side, the title track polytechnics has electrofunk vibes blending perfectly with new wave sensibilities. think greg wilson mixing up gary numan and you wont be far off. it rocks! and on the flip, nu disco don pete herbert (reverso 68/lsb) cuts up pendulo a heavily arrpegiated disco stormer and transforms it into yet another disco bomb. this was an edit that pete knocked together for his own dj sets and we loved it so much we just had to put it on the vinyl. last, but in no way least, is victoria jam which is a no nonsense heads down groover of a track that will get your dancefloors rocking. seriously good music. enjoy! plays by: ashley beedle, llorca, fabrice lig, electric press, reverso 68, munk, murray richardson, ajello, dubious...

nach dem hochgelobten letzten beach house album once twice melody (vÖ 2022) folgen nun 5 neue tracks des amerikanisch-französischen duos bestehend aus victoria legrand und alex scally. entstanden sind die songs während der once twice melody session, sie passten jedoch nicht so recht zu den anderen album-songs, sodass sie nun separat erscheinen. alle songs wurden von beach house produziert und von u.a. alan moulder, trevor spencer, caesar edmunds und von greg calbi und steve fallone bei sterling sound gemastert.
